"HERNIATED DISC" Question: My daughter has a herniated disc in the number two vertebra. I'm wondering how Xango can help her if at all. Apparantly her others are causing problems also. Any advice would be appreciated! Answer: Xango helped me, although my disc problems were lower than your daughter’s but the pathology is the same and a high dose (4-6 ounces 3 times a day) until a response is felt is the way to go about it. For me it took two months.
"Using the juice on an open wound" Question: Can you put the juice on a sterile gauze and apply it to an open wound to increase healing? Can you also do this by combining the juice with the pericarp oil and applying it to a wound, or is it best to use either the juice or pericarp oil one at a time in this procedure? Answer: The juice and the pericarp oil are not sterile so use on an infected wound needs to be supervised by medical personnel. For simple scratches or cuts, there is no problem, but expect stinging from the juice, and be careful because the oil can irritate eyes.
"Pancreatitis" Question: My good friend has a 13 year old daughter with chronic pancreatitis. Would be ok for her to give her daughter Xango juice? Is there anything she should know before starting her on the juice? ANSWER: Pancreatitis means inflammation of the pancreas. During an attack, standard treatment is to withhold food as it would stimulate the pancreas. Xango Juice is food and in my opinion should not be used during an acute attack. At other times, even with chronic disease, it should be used as it can theoretically benefit pancreatic function.
”Syringomyelia” I’ve received a question about Syringomyelia. This is a very rare disorder, and like most rare disorders, I have no anecdotal evidence that the juice is helpful. It is so rare infact, that I don’t even know who would be a good Physician to care for it. Sorry, but that is the story with rare disorders in most cases. If anyone knows of a good outcome with the juice, please let me know.
"Citrus and Allergic Response" Question: I have a potential user of XanGo products who is allergic to citrus and strawberries. She is asking if she could still take the 3sixty5 with the amount of strawberry in it, and is also asking if the mangosteen is part of the citrus fruit family. Answer: XanGo does have some of the same compounds in it that citrus does. The same is true of Eleviv, but 3sixty5 has insufficient compounds to be considered dangerous in my opinion. Citrus allergies are usually mild and not life threatening. Some allergies simply involved irritation of the mouth and lips, and drinking it through a straw will eliminate this contact irritation.
"H1N1 VACCINATIONS" Question: There is a lot of info going around about H1N1 and the shot that is available. The vaccine that is available is coming under some pretty heavy concerns due to its contents. I am just wondering if you have some thoughts on this? Answer: I would be stepping into the deep mud of controversy if I were to express an opinion about the vaccines and I decline to do so. Dr. Les Berensen put a very articulate piece out in favor of the vaccine. I haven’t been vaccinated.
"Xanthone Content in the Mangosteen Fruit" This is from a question I received via email: Question: Last I heard, 50 or 52 xanthones were discovered in the mangosteen - - How many xanthones are actually documented?
Answer: Sounds like Dr. Morton has been out on the internet spreading rumors again! :) Just Kidding about that. As far as I know, 43 is the authentic documented number although I have heard that two more were discovered, but I have not yet seen documentation on that.
“Seizure disorders and Mangosteen” ”I have received “scattered” reports of benefit in seizure disorders but when I drilled down to find the facts, most of the benefits appeared in cases where anxiety was a trigger for seizures. Many people with seizure disorders without this trigger, have not found benefit using the mangosteen. I’m open to more information if you have it. Have a good night!”
"Diabetes" ”Diabetic Ulcers particularly on the lower extremities heal poorly. Wet-to-dry gauze dressings using mangosteen juice instead of normal saline is helpful in speeding up healing.”
"KIDNEY ISSUES" ”Potassium in foods is something that must be carefully watched in kidney failure. There are 25 mg. of Potassium in every 30 ml (1 oz.) of juice. Even end-stage kidney patients can use the juice provided they calculate this Potassium intake into their dietary requirements.
Most people who will respond eventually to the mangosteen effect will experience a positive response in a regimen called the “eight day challenge.” That’s one bottle a day consumed for eight days. By day 5 or 6 high blood levels are obtained and results should begin to become apparent. This is not intended for diabetics, people with serious GI concerns, or kidney patients.”
